Heavy /// July 15, 2012

So, the 30 day may not happen as planned, but it has motivated me back into drawing and sketching. That is a good thing. I'll just nit pick the list in the mean time and slowly do it at my pace since I happen to be busy often (often with spontaneous, friend driven Saturday and Sundays).

Now here is Heavy from Team Fortress 2. It's my new Steam avatar (note: I have to go back in and fix his index and middle finger, I know).

30 Day Challenge /// July 12, 2012

As of today I will be doing a challenge. The challenge is a 30 day drawathon. Each day I have to illustrate something different. Today is a self portrait.

Sketch (guide lines): done.

Line work: done.

Tones on face: done.

Eyes and highlights: done.

Skin and hair: done.

Finished, sans background.

With background (Usually hate doing backgrounds for a portrait... maybe later).

Turkey Count Down

I have been going about my semester with horrible success.  My projects seem to almost never end.  I have to spark up my finished pieces in 3 weeks.  I have little time for play.  In the mean time my vacation starts after I get out of World Civ tomorrow (technically today since it is 2:13 a.m. ET).  I won't be going to my other classes because I can do so.  My Illustration class is a bitch with herpes pretty much.  I can not wait until I get to xmas break though because no work will be involved.  I have been consistently waiting until the last day or so to do work as a result of being lazy.  I also have around 15 dollars left on my meal plan.  I have to resort to buying food and stocking up for the couple of weeks I have left.  On a more cheerful note I am overwhelmed with joy at our new president, Barack Obama.  I don't see how people can think he is the Antichrist.  Hopefully our economy will improve once he kicks good old George out of the house.  In speaking of improving economy I saw a commercial today on the MTVU network that bluntly said, "We are asking for your help to make a video game that will resolve this economic mess we're in."  How stupid does this sound?  Very.  It gets an 8 out of 10 on my stupid bar (the bar that knocks the smart out of things).  I can't quite say how lucky I am, though it took no effort, to have witnessed the Avett Brothers live the last weekend.  I saw them in Ithica's Stage Theatre and let me tell you that they fucking rock.  To me, they beat out ZZ Top live.  Unfortunately they are the only shows I've been to so far.
